Break in transmission...

Yeah, I know, I know!  I've been gone ages - and I only nipped out for a portion of chips (a large one, since you ask - salt, vinegar but no mushy peas).  Time flies.  And I'm sorry I've not been visiting others as much I would like to lately either.

I lost my blogging hat while I was out - but it must be around somewhere, so I'll keep looking.  In the meantime, however, here's a photo of Justin Hayward and Ian Gillan in a 1960s fashion shoot.  I just wish it was in colour!  I suspect there's some deep purple in there somewhere and maybe a moody blue too...

  1. If they were starting out now surely some bright spark would be calling them Jayward. Anyway, seems I was ahead of you for once. Welcome back btw.

  3. Good to have you back ! As an artist, can I ask what you get if you combine a (moody) blue and a (deep) purple ? Were this terrible duo known as JustIan ? Surely that's unfair on Mr Hayward ? Did they sing "Nights in Deep Purple " perhaps ? Sorry - too many "Question"s. Is it time for me to "Go Now" ? Do I need to "Hush" ? ;-)

  4. This is actually the new Deep Purple line-up:
Ian Gillan - screams and bongos
    Justin Hayward - beads
Ian Paice - drums (he never leaves).
    Can't wait for the tour.

  5. Ah a chance to wheel out my fave Malcolm Tucker quitation from The Thick Of It - "people have no opinion of you you're like Special K or the fucking Moody Blues - that's you, just white noise in the background..." A sheer genius summation of one of the most pointless of sixties bands - but not I hasten to add of SDS!

  6. Actually glad that is black and white!

However two greats who are still going today and that is no mean feat itself. Luckily though their fashion sense moved on a bit.

    Happy return btw

  7. Ah, there you are. I was about to muster up a search party. Why are those two dudes wearing my pyjamas?

Good to have you back, you've been missed.
