The return of The Mystery Lovechild...

I reckon it's time for something ridiculous. pointless and a complete waste of time; even more so than usual, I mean.  Another instalment of The Mystery Lovechild!

If you've been around for past 'mystery lovechild' posts you may remember the premise:

What might the secret offspring, born to a famous but unlikely set of musical parents, look like?

Previously, for instance, it turned out that the oddly familiar-looking character below was the (alleged) result of an (alleged) furtive fumble between Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks.   Apparently it all started when he asked her if she thought he was sexy.  That night was the night, but it seems it wasn't big love after all and she told him to go his own way - and that must be why he doesn't want to talk about it.

But every picture tells a story...

So here are some more, frankly very peculiar-looking offspring whose parents need identifying.  I'd love to know who you think could be responsible for such reckless and terrifying distribution of their genes.

No rush, no prizes, but I hope they make you smile rather than throw up.

Answers next Monday!

    1. That's a better answer than what I was going to say (which was Damon and Justine).

    2. RD, I like your idea about Phil and Damon, but we need a man and a woman to make this baby!
Martin, I see where you're going..
You're both right re. Damon but who's the mummy? She loves rock'n'roll.

    1. For number 6, obviously!

    2. Yes Ed of course, well done - but not Liza. Try again... one more time.

  5. 5 is all about New Jersey, right? Bruce Springsteen and John Bon Jovi?

    1. I like your thinking but - just one vital thing missing, a woman! Kind of important when it comes to making babies ;-)
You're correct re. Jon, but mummy's a New Yorker.

    2. I was going to say Patti Smith, but a quick double-check tells me she was born in Chicago. Hmm...

    3. Oh, I didn't know that! Scrub that about New York. I just couldn't think how to shoehorn Horses into this one!

    1. Oh, that pic is giving me nightmares, I can't help thinking of a puffer fish. (That's not a clue by the way.) So yes, you recognised Brian's wonderful quiff (and eyes) but who's sneering lower face is that?

    2. Trouble is, when I look at number 9 all I can think of is Allo Allo waitress Mimi LaBonq...

    1. You're on fire.... but not Little Richard although I was considering him as a candidate. You're on the right lines.

  10. Thanks both for so many good answers already! Just a little hint on a couple of them so far, though: they all have to be biologically male/female pairings to make these hideous babies ;-)

  12. Brilliant recognition work going on here so many thanks. I never know whether they're going to end up glaringly obvious or woefully obscure.

    Yet to be identified are:
3 - both. One's a famous BRITs award winner, the other's surname has a certain guitar-hero ring to it
9 - just the female component, she herself has a musical dad
10 - the owner of those eyes and that pencil moustache.

  14. Oh no, I've just got the email alert that you've done another of these. Bit late to the party but I've had fun coming up with my own answers. 3 correct so far and 4 half right. Will try and come up with a name for the as yet unidentified.

    1. Ah I'm sorry that you only just got the email alert, I don't know how it all works. It took me a while to collate this with other things going on so I just put it up as soon as I finished. RD and Martin were so quick off the mark! So what about those remaining ones... I'll answer below!

    2. Bot your problem at all so no need to be sorry - I should check the sidebars more often on BlogSpot as we don't have new posts listed on Wordpress as you know. It's like the old days of VHS and Betamax or Apple and Android!

    3. Alyson, I use an extension for Chrome called Feedbro that monitors updates to all my blogs, by checking their RSS feeds for me... Blogger, Wordpress, any at all. It's brilliant and I recommend it very highly.

    4. Sounds very technical but I'll have a look - Thanks

  15. I'm going to kick myself with no. 10 but just can't recall the whole face. All I've got is Luther Vandross?

In the absence of a better alternative at the moment I'll go for Kim Wilde for the no. 9 mouth (but she was never that attitudinal).

For no. 3 I'll guess Patti Labelle but not confident about any of these.

    1. Ah, you were just pipped to the post with 10 - Martin correctly deduced that it's Chuck Berry. Now you come to mention it though, I can see a likeness to Luther!

No. 9 - not Kim Wilde but certainly someone who's often been called a wild child in recent times.

No. 3 - Oh so close, Alyson! In fact probably only inches away from Patti many times!

      Delete
    2. Ah in that case, no.3 Nona Hendryx?

As for no. 10, thought it was Chuck but hadn't realised Martin had just guessed so went for someone else.

Still not sure of the wild child.

    3. Excellent! So just no. 10 - I'm no good at these clues (I should sub-contract Rol!) but here's one that might work: use my lyric...

    4. Duh, I meant No. 9 not 10...

  16. The wild child... Patsy Kensit?

    1. That was my first thought too but she doesn't have a musical father. I think we're thrown by the hair colour as I keep coming up with blonde females - She could be dark-haired? Lisa-Marie Presley?

    2. Neither I'm afraid.
"Use my lyric"...I should have said, it's an anagram!

  17. I am looking at these faces and find I'm coming up with names for them. No. 1 looks like a Helen to me and No. 2 looks like a Kyle. Wonder if anyone else has a name for any of them? Intrigued by the smiley Cliff/Lulu one and that kindly Ed/Britney face.

    1. Haha, what a great idea! You've got me thinking...

    2. Cliff/Lulu looks like an Angela to me.

      Delete
    3. Yes. And Suzi/Barry is a Maureen.

      Delete
    4. Ed/Britney looks like a Frances and as for the lovely pic of Rod/Stevie at the top, I'm going for Mandy.

Think we should probably stop now as perhaps being a bit stereotypical and non-PC!? Good fun though, a bit like naming your dolls when you were a kid and they definitely had a look to them that dictated their names. I had a Shirley, a Catherine and a Sandra.

      Delete
    5. It's so funny how we associate names with types, I'm with you on both of these! Ah, doll names - your three totally sum up the era. I had a Gabrielle as I had decided she was French (blame my mum for encouraging such pretensions) and a Henrietta (very posh, I just liked the unusual!)

      Delete
    6. Gosh your dolls did have very exotic and posh-sounding names - Mine had very down to earth workaday names probably suggested by my parents.

    7. I was a precocious horror!
