Twenty out of twenty! Congrats and many thanks to all who played along with last week's album cover puzzle, every one of them was solved by you - and very quickly too. The full images are at the bottom of this post just to confirm your expert identification skills. But before that, I've been snipping more bits out of other sleeve artwork - so if you're up for a Part Two to while away the minutes (or maybe that should be mere seconds judging by the last lot), here are twenty more:

I know 4 but can’t place it. Got the look of Hefner but it’s not.

JM
10. One of Peter Gabriel's many eponymous albums
ReplyDelete15. Sweethearts of the Rodeo - The Byrds
6. New Order - Power Corruption Lies
ReplyDeleteMy other three have already gone! Bit rubbish at this as just didn’t ever have many albums.
I thought I wouldn't run it as a competition, just for individual fun (hopefully!) so the fact you got 4 already is great. Just putting it together, and what you say about not owning many albums, has revealed a few things to me about our relationship with record artwork , so it might be the subject of another post I think!
Delete2 looks like a 4AD album cover but if it is I can't tell you which
ReplyDelete4. Weasels Ripped My Flesh - Frank Zappa
6. New Order - Power, Corruption and Lies?
That's me done
Zappa, of course!

No takers for 11 and 19 yet!
ReplyDeleteAre either of them 'Neu Smell' by Flux of Pink Indians? If not I think I'm completely stumped.
DeleteNo nepotism here, Ernie!
DeleteI'm starting to understand the pain of turning up at 8.45 on Saturday morning and finding all the easy ones are long gone.
ReplyDeleteA feeling I know well!
DeleteBrilliant, C! I’m with Rol, although there is one left that I recognised:
ReplyDelete11 is Deep Sea Skiving by Bananarama
The others look naggingly familiar, but my brain’s too foggy to process right now!
Work commitments ensured that I missed out on the fun this time around, though I've just played along without reading the comments and am confident I know all except 11 and 19. Kicking now that Khayem has pointed out that 11 is Bananarama!
ReplyDelete*kicking myself! Sorry, it's very early!
DeleteCould have been worse, TS. Thanks to typos, I’ve been known to state in print that I’ve been kissing myself. Ironically, I’m kicking myself (again) when I’ve belatedly spotted it!
DeleteSuper impressed by everyone's answers - just intended this as a bit of a brainteaser not a competition so no shame in missing out at the start! Hope it got the cogs whirring...
ReplyDeleteJust 19 left unsolved. Whose luxuriant, thriving cacti are pictured?
My immediate thought that it might be Sulk by Associates… although I didn’t specifically recall cacti, and I was right because it’s not it!
DeleteI'm sure you will know it... and may kick (or kiss?!) yourself when you see
