Have been chuckling to myself since finding that my mother-in-law, who will be 81 next month, had filled in a crossword puzzle with the solution M O T O R H E A D. The clue was simply 'Lemmy's rock band'. It's just the fact that she knew it...
Brilliant! Although come to think of it, she would've only been a mere 44 year-old spring chicken when Lemmy started the band, so who knows, perhaps she's been a secret admirer of his oeuvre all along!
I was at a Tim Hardin concert 1972/3 with a friend and who joined our table for about an hour, you guessed Mr lemmy himself..appears my friend(I had not seen him for years) shared a squat with him....rock 'n roll!
Yep, we all like Motorhead, don't we? And v rock'n'roll, OPC! Mr SDS and I spotted him from across the road once on a quiet London back street, and without hesitation we both waved, thinking "I know that bloke from somewhere..." before it hit us who he was. He waved, grinned and shouted a big "Hello!" back. I suppose he's used to it but it made us happy!

ReplyDeleteI love this! Good old Mum-in-law. Mind you, she's only a couple of years younger than Lemmy, so it sort of makes sense. Rock on!
ReplyDeleteHee hee! I reckon he'll outlive us all...

LOL! Did she get the umlauts correct though - sign of a true fan ;-)
ReplyDeleteHmm. No umlauts. I thought it was too good to be true...
DeleteGod I wish MY mother-in-law was like that....
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, Kolley... I remember, we've read about yours!
