The caterpillar










It took a couple of hours to seal itself itself up safely inside the nettle leaf, pulling each side together with its thread, like a sewing machine.

    Lovely. I hope you have your camera trained on it when it emerges. It will be Red Admiral I think.

      Thanks - I'd love to but the nettles are growing so quickly in all the rain we've had just recently, I'm not sure I'll find the right one! I'll be looking out for new butterflies, though...
