The caterpillar










It took a couple of hours to seal itself itself up safely inside the nettle leaf, pulling each side together with its thread, like a sewing machine.

  2. It takes all sorts doesn't it? I have to say I would never have thought of using a nettle leaf as a duvet for some reason... speaking of which, I not a nettles sting on my little toes this week! So flipping painful!

    1. Thanks - I'd love to but the nettles are growing so quickly in all the rain we've had just recently, I'm not sure I'll find the right one! I'll be looking out for new butterflies, though...
