Personal ads from Frendz 1972

Doesn't really need me to add anything.  It was 1972, after all.

Enjoy...

(Although, I am quite interested to know if Vicky ever found her astral traveller.)

  1. Heh-heh - love it. 'I am fat'?

  2. I just love the language: chicks, heads, bread etc. And 'fat' probably meant something entirely different then, too....

  4. Not sure I'd trust a freak electrician. I wonder how Mr Poll got on with his remarkably formal request? Or the 'normal person' with an earnest need to express himself through poetry?

    Brilliant!

    1. Mm, I see Mr Poll and The Poet both put their full addresses in.... how tempting is it to go round to those houses one day and see if they're still there and what happened? You never know.

Maybe Mr Poll shacked up with a nice chick? And the Poet teamed up with the Freak Electricians to form a new venture, the Syntax Sparkies. If you're reading this, please write in...

    2. couldn't resist googling some of these and yes there is a poet doing podcasts by the name of Stephen Ruffer, so perhaps he got his wish after all. Gentle Ghost filmed the Bath festival in the early seventies...so maybe they did make their important sociological document. Also had a look at the address of Mr Poll on google street view and to be honest I don't think he could have been a very successful businessman ! I must get a life....

    3. Ha, brilliant!
I'm a bit relieved too, to be honest, Bel Mondo, that I'm not the only one with such a curious mind. I mean - I was all set to take some quite unusual diversions on my next trip to London!

  5. I want so badly to make a Carlos Danger* joke here...

*It was revealed this week that one time congressman and current candidate for New York Mayor, Anthony Wiener was trolling for "chicks" on line, AGAIN, under the name Carlos Danger.

    1. Ah, I seem to remember hearing some controversy about Mr Wiener a while back... he obviously can't stop himself.

But - oh,that's a great name choice: 'Carlos Danger'! I have to credit him for imagination ;-)
