It can be so subtle but just the slightest whiff of self-righteousness and it makes me want to do the complete opposite, even if I actually totally agree with the underlying principles! Funny that, very psychological - so yes, completely get what you're saying about those sensible Geography cohorts!

I don't know why all those sweet names changed, never understood the point. I'm sure they tasted better too. And they were definitely bigger! I'm sounding really old now....
Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02423624920558505937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6075393268513251879.post-13306928990841510512018-03-07T14:17:31.591+00:002018-03-07T14:17:31.591+00:00Very phlegmatic!Very phlegmatic!Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02423624920558505937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6075393268513251879.post-72750473381804804882018-03-07T12:03:24.492+00:002018-03-07T12:03:24.492+00:00I've glossed over those...I've glossed over those...Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05267504526414194713noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6075393268513251879.post-25220232109768809512018-03-07T10:03:57.297+00:002018-03-07T10:03:57.297+00:00Ha ha - Leek pie indeed. Really doesn't sound like very appetising pre-gig food at all and I know exactly what you mean about the "being a little too earnest" label - As an ex-Geography student who had to spend 4 years with people who were always dressed in sensible sweaters, boots, gators and jackets, they just made me want to dress even more outrageously in my punkish charity shop finds. When asked (on a field trip) if I wanted to join them in buying a bottle of cider, I quickly replied, "No, it's ok, I've got a bottle of gin"! (What is it that just drives you to want to cause shock/upset?)

Anyway I'm high-jacking your comments boxes but thanks for sharing your memories of those days. Important to have them recorded somewhere I think as such a long time ago now. As for Treets, Marathons and Opal Fruits - Yes, sadly missed. Who knows though, after Brexit, all those who wanted things to go back to how they used to be (?!) may get their wish, and these sweet treats might be re-packaged to their former glory.Alysonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15671033552961486737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6075393268513251879.post-37200753356632860202018-03-06T22:25:49.976+00:002018-03-06T22:25:49.976+00:00I'd definitely go for that, thanks - just with...I'd definitely go for that, thanks - just without the sausage meat (not because of anarcho punk, just that I haven't eaten meat since I was little!)
