Get sett
Work's a bit on the heavy ticket at the mo; nine and ten-hour days, seven days a week (with occasional blog activity sponsored by Nescafe Fine Blend). All the book illustrators I know frequently have similar experiences: long hours, tight deadlines and low pay, so we must be doing it for love. Besides, in how many other jobs do you get to think about what a young badger might look like blowing up a balloon?!
Now, this is something that has often set(t) me thinking: what *would* a young badger blowing up a balloon look like? Now I know - wonderful. Don't work too hard, C.

ReplyDeleteYve: yes isn't it always the way, too much time and no money or enough money (just!) and no time. Hope your work picks up again v soon and also that we both manage to get the one thing that seems impossible in our lines: balance!
C - just a thought. What do you think a mole doing crochet would look like?

ReplyDeleteAh yes, I had a much loved Rupert annual too - can still remember my delight at those special 'magic' pictures which came to life when you put water on them!
